Foolishness is too soft a word to describe the unspeakable garbage the Magico Ultimate is. They have mis-matched impedance drivers, improperly sized horns for the drivers, and made everything from metal. Then they go on an attempt to brag that "We us...

Scott,     Do not pay any attention to the moron advice given on the Audio Asylum. The issue is not with the quantity of the power you have, it is with the quality of power you have. Genn makes some very good points. Most circuits...

After looking at the pictures at http://www.webbtjanst.se/lenco/loudspeakers.aspI'm feeling like it is both your room and the unfinished horn throat. Maybe more room related. If there is a rough section of your horn throat with "steps" of 3/4" m...

Hi Ronnie,     There are a few things that could be causing the alien sounds you site. One, of course, could be certain frequency nodes being excited by room reflections. As long as your room is reasonably dampened, this would not...

Your comments are quite funny and contrary to the facts. Romy can hear, as I can too, the difference between solid state amplification and tube amplification because his system is properly setup and can resolve all the nuances. The slightest com...

I’ve never heard of the “Hut on Fowl’s Leg” before. It is an interesting folklore tale. However, I still laugh when I see these horns. Other than being completely ridiculous in appearance, this guy didn’t even bother to time align any of the drivers....

Romy,I have seen this a few times with JBL and Altec drivers. This phenomena occurs more often in Alnico magnets than any other type of magnet. When a magnet is recharged, it is blasted with a very strong magnetic field. There is really no way to “ha...

Hey Boys, Remember even if you use a modern "pancake" compression driver, you still have no control over the flare rate the manufacturer used within the phasing plug. And most of the time they are not willing to tell you, or they don't even know...

Romy,      What you say about both series and parallel filters is true. The parallel circuit does eat transient response, but if you keep the minumin impedance higher, it does not stress the amplifier so much. For your 16 ohm woof...

I think a parallel notch filter might do the trick. I find that parallel circuits do not get in the way of the music as much as components that are placed in series with the source. A C-L-R circuit wired across the woofer’s input terminals should do ...
